KISS And Motley Crue Concert Postponed After Pyrotechnics Truck Flips

Posted by admin with No Comments

KISS and Motley Crue postponed a show (September 5) at Detroit’s DTE Energy Music Theater after the semi-truck carrying the bands’ pyrotechnic equipment flipped. The roof of the trailer was torn off, and its contents subsequently forced their way out. The concert was rescheduled for the following night.

“We owe you the show you expect and deserve, so we’ve jointly decided to give our crews the 24 hours necessary to piece everything together to make it possible,” read a statement from the bands.

An officer of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, speaking with the Detroit Free Press, said the driver lost control of the truck while reaching for his water bottle.

The driver, Charles Lamb, was cited for failure to control a vehicle and was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. [Source]

Motley Crue Enter The Studio To Record New Song

Posted by admin with No Comments

American glam metal legends Motley Crue has entered drummer Tommy Lee’s Atrium Studio today to begin recording a brand new song, their first new material since the 2008 studio album, “Saints of Los Angeles.” A message from bass player Nikki Sixx reads as follows:

“Mötley Crüe and the Crüeheads have pretty much taken over Vegas the last few weeks… It really feels like we’re riding the positive chaos right now. We just did a huge new photo shoot, were finishing up a brand new Crüe song for summer (that will lead to an full album after), European headline shows on festivals and in arenas too, but none of this would happen without you guys. Thank you.” [Source]

New Motley Crue Album and Movie Coming

Posted by admin with No Comments

Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars has laughed off Vince Neil’s claims that he’s thinking of retiring from the band when their Las Vegas residency ends later this month. And the guitarist reveals his long-awaited solo album could feature elements of death metal.

Mars is currently appearing with the Crue in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, with two-hour shows scheduled to take place until February 19. But he’s convinced Neil won’t act on his recent comments about leaving the band to pursue other projects he might not otherwise find time for.

The guitarist tells Ultimate Classic Rock: “Okay, here’s my answer: Fat chance. That’s a good neutral answer, I think.” On the contrary, Mars says fans can expect a new album within the next 18 months, along with the much-vaunted movie version of their book The Dirt. [Source]

Rumor Mill: KISS & Motley Crue to Tour Together

Posted by admin with No Comments

It’s only a rumor at this time but, according to the site bravewords.com, a source has reported that KISS and Motley Crue will tour together in the Fall.

If the report is true, it would most likely be a KISS headlining tour in support of their album Monster with Motley Crue in a support role.

KISS should have the recording of the Monsteralbum in the can according to members of the group although no timeframe has been set for the release.

On the other hand, Motley Crue may be in a bit of an upheaval. They are playing a short residency in Las Vegas in February; however, lead Vince Neil has said that he might be leaving the group. “This is all about me thinking about the second half of my life, thinking about my future, and that future might not include Motley Crue after Vegas.”

We will pass along any further developments on this rumor when they become available. [Source]

Motley Crue Reportedly to Announce Las Vegas Residency

Posted by admin with No Comments

Motley Crue will apparently follow in the footsteps of fellow classic rockers Elton John and Rod Stewart when they begin a residency in Las Vegas next year. The Las Vegas Sun reports a deal with the Hard Rock Hotel will be announced before Thanksgiving.

Very few details are known about the group’s series of shows, other than it would begin towards the end of February and include three of four shows a week for a month. The Crue should be well-rehearsed for the gig as they’ll close 2011 with a tour of Britain, including a Dec. 14 show at Wembley Stadium.

This deal would be a sweet one for lead singer Vince Neil as Las Vegas is his hometown. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Motley Crue, and Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars are celebrating with a major tour with Def Leppard and by re-releasing their book ‘The Dirt — Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band.
