Tommy Lee wins legal battle over drum kit rollercoaster

Posted by admin with No Comments

Motley Crue star Tommy Lee has won a legal battle against an engineer who alleged the rocker stole his idea for a drum kit rollercoaster. The musician used the stunt during the band’s 2011 tour, where he could be seen turning upside down as he played, but Los Angeles-based engineer Scott King claimed he pitched a similar idea to Lee in 1991. In 2012, King filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court demanding at least $400,000 (£266,667) in damages over allegations the rocker stole his idea. However, King has lost the legal battle after a judge ruled he never obtained exclusive rights to the concept and Lee created his own version of the rollercoaster drum set, according to TMZ.com. Rocker Tommy Lee joins Fashion Week finale

Posted by admin with No Comments

Rochester’s Fashion Week finished on a strong note Saturday night with a big runway show.

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and celebrity DJ Aero were the special guests at a runway show of work by fashion designer and Rochester native Greg Poliseeni.

The event is not just about looking good though. It raised funds for The Center for Youth to support its mission of providing stable and secure shelter services to homeless kids.

Polisseni’s clothing line “Artistix” also benefits a good cause.

“They’re gonna see a creative (clothing) line, have fun, that’s also going to give back to charity,” said Polisseni. “The Humane Society, CDS Monarch, Wounded Warriors Project. Just a fun line, something different that people can have fun with.”

Polisseni’s line will launch in Los Angeles in February, but he wanted to have Saturday’s “soft launch” in his hometown. [Source]

Tommy Lee Permanently Banned From Coachella

Posted by admin with No Comments

Tommy Lee has revealed the he and his Motley Crue bandmates have been permanently banned from Coachella. In a new interview series called “Coffee Run,” hosted by Deadmau5, the pair covered a myriad of topics, including the pair’s fateful encounter with Coachella’s main promoter.

According to the Lee, the incident occurred after he and Deadmau5 “landed a helicopter in a field with burning vans.”

Lee adds that the promoter didn’t see the humor in the gag and screamed: “Motley Crue will never play Coachella!” to which Lee merely replied: “OK.”

“I’m just wondering if one of us maybe accidentally f—ed his girlfriend,” chuckled Lee. “You can’t be that mad at somebody or hate somebody that much unless you’ve personally done something to him.” [Source]

Video: MÖTLEY CRÜE’s TOMMY LEE DJing In Las Vegas

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee and DJ Aero performed at Rehab in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 29. Video footage of their appearance can be seen below. Photos are available at VegasNews.com.

In a 2011 interview with BerkleeGroove.com, Lee was asked if he considered DJing to be sort of a “side thing,” or if that was what he mostly did at that time. “It’s never really been a side thing,” he replied. “It’s been a long transition because everyone knows my background as a rock guy, but we’ve been making some new music now and we’re getting on the right tours, playing the right places, in front of the right people. Yes, it’s a lot of fun, and we really enjoy doing what we do, but it’s something Aero and I take really seriously.”

Asked if he’s always been into electronic music, Lee replied: “I’m a drummer, so I’ve been into pretty much anything with electronic beats for forever, it seems like. Professionally, I met Aero in 2000, and in 2004 we started going out as a team and doing what we do.” Read the rest of this entry »
